My first ever drawings; self portraits. The first one is too long (stretched vertically) and the second one is too squished vertically, but there is a big difference. Why? On my first attempt, I tried to line-draw everything I saw. On my second attempt I treated it like a painting and painted with the pencil; i.e. I shaded shapes by value… :-) These were drawn about 20 minutes apart.
